Q1: Where does the information on the site come from?
A1. The resources on the site are contributed and owned by members of Hertfordshire Prosperity.


Q2: Is the data on the Observatory accurate? 
A2. We take great care in maintaining this website to ensure that it is accurate and contains up-to-date information.  However, inaccuracies or errors may sometimes occur - when they do we will do our utmost to correct these. The Hertfordshire Observatory will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused as a result of any inaccuracy or error within its web site pages. The Hertfordshire Observatory contains links to other websites. Please be aware that the inclusion of links to other organisations and websites from any pages of the Hertfordshire Observatory does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement of that organisation or its website.If you discover any information on our pages that you believe to be inaccurate or inappropriate, please notify us by e-mailing HertsLis@hertfordshire.gov.uk Hertfordshire Local Information System © 2005 onwards.

Q4: How should I cite the Hertfordshire Observatory as an information source?
A4. When citing any information from the Hertfordshire Observatory, you should include information in the following format:
Author surname, Author firstname/initial, Publication title, date of publication, accessed on the Hertfordshire Observatory, http://www.hertsdirect.org/hertsobservatory, on date accessed.


Q5: What is the policy of the Observatory for linking to other websites?
A5. The Hertfordshire Observatory contains links to other websites. Please be aware that the inclusion of links to other organisations and websites from any pages of the Hertfordshire Observatory does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement of that organisation or its website.
The Hertfordshire Observatory is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of other sites, but you might encounter the use of session cookies and permanent cookies.


Q6: Does the Observatory only contain data about Hertfordshire?
A6. The Observatory includes links to Observatories elsewhere within the East of England region so that you can find out more information about the region.  You can access these links here.


Q7: I haven't got the right software to view the data on the Observatory
A7. To view the data on the Observatory, you'll need to have the ability to view Microsoft Excel and Word Documents and Portable Document Format (PDF) documents.  Readers for these document types are available.

Microsoft Word 2003 Viewer (NB This file is 11MB in size)
Adobe Acrobat Reader for PDF documents (Link to external website)
