Community health profiles for Broxbourne District
The English Public Health Observatories (PHOs) published their first set of 386 local authority Health Profiles in 2006 in response to the government White Paper ‘Choosing Health: Making Healthy Choices Easier’ which required PHOs to produce reports designed for local communities at local authority level which support Directors of Public Health in promoting health in their area. Health profiles 2012 have now been published.
The Health Profiles Interactive website was created in 2008 which enables users to easily create their own maps and charts including the Health Profiles spine chart for different areas and indicators, and to download the Health Profile pdfs and the data. Regional profiles were also created for the first time in 2008 to provide a ranked comparison of local authorities and counties within each region. The 2010 Regional profiles are available but these are the last to be produced.
The profiles contain information on Deprivation, Health inequalities and a range of 32 health indicators by area with a comparison to England as a whole.
