Model-based estimates of Unemployment for small areas (Districts)
Model-based estimates of unemployment levels and rates for small areas are being developed by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to produce higher quality estimates than from the annual local area Labour Force Survey.
The model-based estimate produces a single-best estimate for total unemployment for districts. It is not sub-divided by, for example, age or sex.
The data is available in a spreadsheet giving quarterly time series data for rolling years from January to December 2004 onwards. This spreadsheet is available by selecting the link entitled Model-based estimates of Unemployment by district (on the right hand side of the screen).
For further information about these estimates is available by selecting the link entitled Further information on the Model-based estimates of Unemployment (on the right hand side of the screen).
