Monthly unemployment in Hertfordshire by district
JSA claimant count records the number of people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) and National Insurance credits at Jobcentre Plus local offices. This is not an official measure of unemployment, but is the only indicative statistic available for areas smaller than Local Authorities. This spreadsheet presents data for claimants resident in districts in Hertfordshire for each month since January 1996.
Please note that from August 2010 there has been a change to the definition of working age population to include females aged 60 to 64. This means that female and total claimant count proportions will have been adjusted downwards. This has also been applied retrospectively to historic data. The historic data held here has been updated.
