Marriage
In 2001, the Census tells us that 56.27% of all people aged 16 and over were married, re-married or separated (but still legally married), 28.45% were single (never married), 7.70% were divorced and 7.57% were widowed. Of those people aged 16 and over who were living as a couple in a household, 84.14% were married (or remarried) whilst 15.86% were co-habiting.
