Population and migration

This section provides a variety of statistics relating to the populations and numbers of households in Hertfordshire and its constituent areas.

The most up-to-date Population estimates are the Registrar General's mid year population estimates, these provide annual breakdowns of the population into sex and age in 5 year age groups for Hertfordshire and the ten district council areas.

More detailed statistics in terms of subject areas and geographical areas are available from the National census, the latest of which was held in 2011. The first results from this are to be published on 16th July 2012, in the meantime results are available from the 2001 census.

Projections of population and numbers of households in the future and information about Internal migration are also available in this section.
