Population projections
Periodically the Office for National Statistics (ONS) produces population projections which provide projections for males and females in 5 year age bands for each year over a 25 year period. The latest are the 2010-based population projections which were published on 21st March 2012.
Please note that these projections are purely trend based i.e. what would happen should the recent trend continue. They do not take into account any future policies or large scale development.
